A little about what makes The Gathering Place unique
Our story is one of faith, family, and divine timing. When Ed purchased Darlington Lake in 1987, we had no idea God’s plan would lead us to create one of Pennsylvania’s most beloved wedding venues. What began as our family’s log home, where we hosted gatherings and celebrated our daughters’ own weddings, has grown into something truly special. Through prayer and careful stewardship, we’ve created a place where couples can begin their marriage journey surrounded by natural beauty.

Meet The Owners
The Gathering Place is the vision of Ed and Annie Knotts, who have called this lakefront property home since 1987. After hosting their own daughters’ weddings here, they were inspired to share their slice of paradise with other couples. Today, with support from their daughters Jamie & Jodie and experienced venue staff, they maintain the hands-on, family approach that makes The Gathering Place unique.
